Carman got into technology the long way. She started in the classroom — teaching in a school where many of her students were navigating life in a new country — then moved into immigration legal services, where she kept running into the same stubborn problem: the infrastructure didn't work. That sent her into tech. Since then she's built and shipped products across big tech, open-source organizations, nonprofits, and foundations — tackling everything from legal tech and policy data tools to AI products and open web standards. She believes technology can make lives easier and the world more livable, but only if the right people show up to build it that way.Today she runs Berrian Advisory, working as a strategist and fractional technology executive for mission-driven organizations with hard problems to solve. She joined Mobile Pathways because Pathfinder is the kind of tool she wished existed when she was sitting across from clients who needed answers fast.
